Nungarin Vintage Rally

Got anything exciting planned this weekend?

It’s a question we all seem to get asked as the end of the working week draws near.

Usually, it’s from friends or colleagues at work. (And if truth be known, they’re only asking because they can’t wait to tell you about all the cool stuff they’re getting up to themselves.)

Oh, just the usual,’ is generally your stock response. ‘Ferrying the kids round, doing the shopping, mowing the lawn, blah, blah, blah.

Except on Saturday 29 February, it doesn’t have to be ‘just the usual’. Far from it, in fact. Because this is the day you can treat yourself and your family to an unforgettable trip to the Nungarin Vintage Rally.

As well as a classic collection of vintage cars, there’s a whole lot more to see too … including trucks, tractors, army tanks and a huge array of military memorabilia.

Plus, after dark, you can get to experience what 800,000 candles would look like when we rev up the WWII Anti-Aircraft Searchlight.

It’s all happening at the Nungarin Heritage Machinery and Army Museum at 26 Second Avenue Nungarin from 10am to 10pm. The cost is just $10 per person – and for children under 16, it’s free.

And where exactly is Nungarin?

That’s easy. It’s about 40kms north of Merredin and around a 3-hour drive east from Perth.

So why not come for the day and stay for the weekend? As well as lots of dining options, there’s excellent accommodation facilities at both McCorry’s Old Hotel and The Woolshed Hotel.

And if you fancy bringing your home with you, caravans are welcome at Nungarin Caravan Park, Mangowine Homestead and McCorry’s Old Hotel. Just click on the links to find out more.

Oh… and before you head home on Sunday, be sure to check out all the arts, crafts and bargains on offer at the iconic Nungarin Sunday Markets.

Best of all, this time you really have got something exciting planned for the weekend!
